CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Dorothy L. "Dottie" Thrush Glover, 79, a resident of Magnolias of Chambersburg and formerly of 226 W. North St., Waynesboro, Pa., died Tuesday at Menno Haven Nursing Home in Chambersburg.

Born July 9, 1929, in Letterkenny Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Samuel Ruby and Annie Eliza Pilgrim Thrush.

She was a 1947 graduate of Shippensburg High School in Shippensburg, Pa. She later received her bachelor's degree in business from Shippensburg State College in 1962 and then her master's degree in business from Shippensburg State College in 1969.


She was employed with Waynesboro School District, where she taught business for 31 1/2 years, retiring in 1993.

She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rouzerville, Pa., where she sang in the choir.

She also was a member of Retired Teachers Association of Franklin County, South Chapter AARP 2977 in Waynesboro and National AARP.

She is survived by two sons, Michael E. Glover of Chambersburg and Griffith A. Glover of St. Thomas, Pa.; four grandchildren, Kathryn Cessna, Evan Glover, Erin Glover and Nathan Glover; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Julia C. Rotz, Leah V. Mellott and Mabel G. Thrush; and two brothers, Harold P. Thrush and infant Samuel R. Thrush.

A memorial service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rouzerville. The Rev. Fredrica K. Meitzen will officiate. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday.
