CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Norma Nye Anna Stambaugh Beachley, 80, of 260 Woodvale Drive, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at Penn Hall Nursing Center.

Born March 24, 1928, in York, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Norman Stambaugh and Ruth Nye Stambaugh Summers.

She was a vocalist and entertainer, starring in community theater productions such as "Guys and Dolls," "Bye Bye Birdie" and "My Fair Lady." From the late 1950s to the 1970s, she appeared in revues and sang with local bands, as well as modeled and appeared in commercials.


She was a member of the Chambersburg Church of the Brethren, where she sang in the choir.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Beachley, whom she married in 1946; two children, Victoria A. Gordon Kiser and Deborah K. Zenefski, both of Chambersburg; three sisters, Betty Greenfield of Bethesda, Md., Gwendolyn Henneberger of Florida and Lois Jean McCleary of Chambersburg; one stepsister, Ruth Weaver of Chambersburg; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Louise Stoner; one brother, Samuel Stambaugh; and one stepsister, Audrey Grove.

A memorial service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg. The Rev. Harold E. Yeager will officiate.

Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
