Waynesboro school board interviews set

December 23, 2008

WAYNESBORO, Pa. -- Public interviews to find a new Waynesboro Area School Board member will be held Jan. 7 and 8.

Four candidates will be interviewed Wednesday and five Thursday, according to K. Marilyn Smith, school board president.

Each session will start at 6 p.m. in the Clayton Avenue administrative offices.

Applications to be a Washington Township, Pa., representative on the school board were due Dec. 22. A position was vacated Dec. 9 by Stanley Barkdoll, who had been on the board for 17 years.

The term expires in December 2009.

Joseph Jacobs Jr., Alice Noll, Denise Ingram and Chris Lynd will be interviewed Wednesday. Barbara Shadler, Gregory Ochoa, D. Tim Morrow, Kathy Shaffer and Matthew Richardson will be interviewed Thursday.

Smith said community members can attend the interviews, but not ask questions. The interviews will be conducted by Smith and fellow board members Pat Heefner and Chris Devers.

The nine board members represent regions -- the Borough of Waynesboro, Washington Township and the North End.
