Doub students help Humane Society

December 23, 2008

Students, teachers and staff at Emma K. Doub Elementary School participated in the Humane Society of Washington County's Home 4 the Holidays pet adoption campaign.

Thirteen classes filled giant stockings with animal-related items. On Dec. 15, a shelter representative picked up the stockings along with cat trees, plush pet beds and bags of food for homeless pets. Some classes even collected monetary donations for the shelter.

Principal Betsy Donohoe was on hand for the pickup.

"The students were really excited about helping out with this campaign," she said. "The teachers were just as enthusiastic as the students and I know they are very happy they could help."

Photographs of participating students and teachers can be viewed on the shelter's Web site at www.hswcmd.org. Click on Home 4 the Holidays and Photo Gallery.
