John Brown brochure available

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Franklin County Historical Society-Kittochtinny has completed a brochure for the John Brown House.

The development and printing of the brochure was made possible partly through a $500 grant from the Pennsylvania Humanities Council.

The brochures are available at the Old Jail, 175 E. King St. and the Heritage Center on the square in Chambersburg.

A commemoration of John Brown's raid on Harpers Ferry will take place through a variety of programs at several venues throughout 2009.

FCHS-K is involved in regional cooperative planning with the Harpers Ferry historical center and county agencies and historical societies representing Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.
