Preps Area Roundup -- Berkeley Springs wins tourney on buzzer-beater

ELLENBORO, W.Va. -- Harlie Stotler scored at the buzzer off an offensive rebound to lift Berkeley Springs to a 52-50 win over Grafton in overtime in the championship game of the Clair Bee Tournament at Ritchie County on Friday.

Rebecca Trump was also clutch for Berkeley Springs in overtime with a bucket and a 2-for-2 trip to the foul line.

Lesley Yost led the Indians (3-2) with 13 points, including three 3-pointers, and tournament MVP Amber Booher added 10 points.

Yost and Jess Haynes earned All-Tournament honors.

Chelsea Phillips led Grafton with 20 points -- 15 of which came in the fourth quarter and overtime.

BRUNSWICK, Md. -- Sara Rishell had 12 points to go along with her 19 rebounds as Smithsburg had a huge rebounding night in its MVAL Antietam win over Brunswick.

Katie Sprecher had eight points and a team-high 20 boards, while Allie Nickels added 10 rebounds and Marissa Luipersbeck scored 10 points for the Leopards (5-0, 2-0).

WAYNESBORO, Pa. -- Big Spring took control of the game from the opening tip, racing out to a 15-5 lead and never looking back to hand Waynesboro its first Mid-Penn Capital loss.

Big Spring led 28-8 at the half.

Mallory Wishard was held to four points but had nine rebounds for the Maidens (3-4, 3-1), while Danielle Miller led Waynesboro with 12 points.

Potter's House is ranked 13th nationally in the ESPNRise Top 50 Poll.

The Eagles (3-1) committed 49 turnovers in the rout.
