UPPER STRASBURG, Pa. - Mark P. "Bud" Snyder, 84, of 11066 Upper Strasburg Road, Upper Strasburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa.

Born April 15, 1924, in Glenarm, Md., he was a son of the late William I. and Marietta Wright Snyder.

Bud was of the Protestant faith and a graduate of Talson High School, Glenarm. He owned and operated Colonial Cabinet Shop. Bud was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving in World War II, and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Post 842 and Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599, both of Chambersburg, Pa.

He is survived by four daughters, Roxanne C. Hull and her husband, Troy, of Orrstown, Pa., Tona M. Beatty and her husband, George, of Chambersburg, Georgetta S. Kauffman and her husband, Stephen, of Hagerstown, Md., and Stephanie H. Sweeney and her husband, Stanley, of Fayetteville, Pa.; a sister, Hilda E. Norton of Upper Strasburg; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; he is also survived by his companion, Esther Kissinger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby M. Harbour Snyder; and second wife, Laura M. Stevens Snyder; a brother, Melvin W.P. Snyder; and a sister, Lillian N. Cheek.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. in Shippensburg, Pa. The Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens with military honors by the Shippensburg VFW and American Legion Posts. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
