GREAT CACAPON, W.Va. - Charles Stephen Zies II, 40, of Gaither Road, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born Aug. 1, 1968, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of Virginia L. Davenport Stone and stepson of Cliff Stone of Great Cacapon, and son of Charles Stephen Zies I and stepson of Deborah Zies of Hancock.

He was a graduate of Hancock High School and the Vocational-Technical and Career Center in Hagerstown.

He was a licensed plumber and electrician.

He was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church in Warfordsburg, Pa.

In addition to his parents and stepparents, he is survived by his wife, Angela Marlene Zies; four daughters, Bethany Zies of Hagerstown, Gretchen Zies of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Rachel Zies and Morgan Bain, both of Great Cacapon; two sons, Zachary Zies of Berkeley Springs and Michael Bain of Hancock; four sisters, Stacey Hayes of Orlando, Fla., Michelle Held of Sarasota, Fla., and Brandy Mills and Ericka Reed, both of Hancock; and grandmother, Marietta Douglas Zies of Hancock.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Christian Church. The Rev. Denver A. Plessinger will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home in Hancock and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
