HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Benjamin Louis Nutzman, 89, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at Fahrney-Keedy Home and Village in Boonsboro.

Born Aug. 3, 1919, in Fairbury, Neb., he was the son of the late Edwin Roscoe and Ethel Eugenia Millikan Nutzman.

He retired after 30 years with the Veterans Administration in Washington, D.C., where he was an auditor.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was of the Protestant faith.

He was a member of Sleepy Hollow Golf and Country Club in Charles Town, W.Va.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Radliff Nutzman, whom he married in 1941; two sons, Robert L. Nutzman of Purcellville, Va., and Richard R. Nutzman of Harpers Ferry; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Fahrney-Keedy Home and Village chapel in Boonsboro. The Rev. Louis Emmerick will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town.

There will be no visitation.
