BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. - A Blue Ridge Mountain Christmas celebration will be Saturday from 4 to 7:30 p.m. in and around the Blue Ridge Summit Plaza area.
Festivities will begin with a Civil War church service at Living Word Ministry Church on Monterey Lane at 4 p.m.
From 4 to 6 p.m., there will be cookies, hot cocoa, horse-drawn wagon rides, firetruck rides and a quilt raffle in front of the Summit Plaza Restaurant.
The Blue Ridge Summit Library will host an open house from 4 to 7 p.m.
A tree lighting in honor of Richard Happel will be at 6 p.m. and will feature tree decorating, caroling led by Girl Scout Troops 856 and 1198, dancing by Troop 856 and a solo by Hayley Bowders.
Churches open from 3 to 4 p.m. will be St. Stephen's UCC at 25445 Highfield Road in Cascade and Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church at 654 Old Waynesboro Road near Fairfield, Pa.
