MISHAWAKA, Ind. - William Lee Mishler, 84, of Ardennes Court, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Regency Place in South Bend, Ind.

Born July 18, 1924, in South Bend, he was the son of the late Ora and Flossie Gronkright Mishler.

He retired from Mack Trucks Inc. in Hagerstown, after working for 13 years at Studebaker Corp. in South Bend.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was awarded four bronze stars.

He was a member of American Legion Post 42 of Hagerstown.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary T. Kearney Mishler, whom he married Nov. 8, 1947; four children, Sue Berger and Janet Shide, both of South Bend, Mary Mishler of Greensboro, N.C., and Jacqueline Gaver of Hagerstown; three brothers, Robert Mishler of Columbus, Miss., James Kemble of Alexandria, Va., and John Kemble of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, James Mishler.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Bubb Funeral Chapel in Mishawaka. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, with graveside military rites.

The family will receive friends Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
