INWOOD, W.Va. - Scott Clinton Staubs, 43, of Inwood, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008.

Born Sept. 27, 1965, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of Shirley Ann Armholt Edwards and David L. Edwards of Hedgesville, and the son of the late Fred T. Staubs.

He was a graduate of Musselman High School, class of 1984. He was a four-year starter on the Musselman football team and assisted with winning the championship in 1982. He was a member of the track team and was a record-setting pole vaulter.

He was employed at Cives in Winchester, Va.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during Desert Storm and Desert Shield.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two daughters, Rachel L. Staubs and Taylor L. Staubs, both of Hedgesville; three brothers, Fred T. Staubs Jr. of Washington state, Tony Edwards of Florida and Dave Edwards of Hedgesville; two sisters, Donna Staubs of Inwood and Patricia Davids of Hedgesville; nieces; nephews; and friend, Lara Johnston of Inwood.


Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home's South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood. Pastor L. Jack Rudy will officiate. Military graveside services will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
