Clyde Edgar Plotner, 76, of 448 Jefferson St., Hagerstown, Md., passed away, Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at his home.

Born Tuesday, Sept. 20, 1932, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Howard Ellis Plotner and the late Lillian Ophelia Whitacre Plotner.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Elsie Plotner, in 1976.

He was employed with Pangborn Corp., and later with Fairchild Aircraft and Rohr Industries. He enjoyed going to the City Market in Hagerstown, and was an avid collector and nature lover, but especially enjoyed spending time with his grandsons.

He is survived by two daughters, Leisa Shari Rudy and husband Lewis of Hagerstown, and Angela Marie Kirkpatrick and husband Donald of Hagerstown; one sister, Anna Haupt of Olympia, Wash.; and one brother, Gilbert Plotner of Centralia, Wash.; four grandchildren, Charles Adam Rudy, Lewis Charles Rudy II, Zachariah Joseph Moore and Cody Lee Stout.


He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Ellis Plotner.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Faith Christian Fellowship, 16726 Lappans Road, Williamsport, Md., with Pastor John Miller officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.
