Dual Highway supermarket robbed

December 16, 2008

A clerk at ALDI supermarket at 565 Dual Highway in Hagerstown was pushed from her register and all the money was taken from the drawer in a strong-arm robbery Monday night, a Hagerstown Police Department spokesman said.

Police were called to the store at 7:40 p.m.

The incident began when two men approached the clerk as if they were going to pay for some merchandise, said Lt. Mark Holtzman.

After the theft, the men fled out of the store toward Cleveland Avenue, Holtzman said.

One of the suspects was described as being white, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds, Holtzman said. He was wearing a knit hat, a black hooded jacket and glasses.

The second man was about the same weight and height and was wearing a gray hooded jacket and a black baseball cap, Holtzman said.
