CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. -- Anne B. Mortellaro, 95, of Charles Town, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at Canterbury Center of Shepherdstown, W.Va.

Born July 22, 1913, in Buffalo, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Frank C. and Angeline Ambrose Battaglia.

Her husband, Charles M. Mortellaro, died in 1977.

She was a 1934 graduate of D'Youville College in Buffalo.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Eggertsville, N.Y., where she served on the altar and rosary society, and the Parish Respect Life committee. She attended St. Leo's Catholic Church in Inwood, W.Va.

She is survived by two daughters, Christine Radlich of Charles Town and Susan Caruana of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Marie Maier of Roseville, Mich.; one brother, Joseph Battaglia of Las Vegas; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; nieces; and nephews.


She was preceded in death by one brother, Francis Battaglia.

A memorial service will be at St. Benedict Catholic Church at a later date. Burial will be private.
