MANNINGS, W.Va. -- Mary L. Wiley, 69, of Mannings, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.

Born Oct. 31, 1939, in Kabletown, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Eva Painter Bell.

She retired after 27 years as a custodian with Jefferson County Schools.

She was of the Methodist faith.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Phillip M. "Pete" Wiley Sr.; one daughter, Theresa Vincent of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; two sons, Phillip M. Wiley Jr. of Leesburg, Va., and Christopher S. Wiley of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; three sisters, Martha Brackett of Ranson, W.Va., Adeline Oden of Harpers Ferry and Elizabeth Wilt of Charles Town, W.Va.; one brother, Wilmer Bell of Harpers Ferry; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Beatrice Magaha and Nancy Hardy.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town. The Rev. James Boyce will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, W.Va.


Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
