Put out the fire!

December 15, 2008

As someone who enjoys automobiles, you have to appreciate a company that makes its living keeping your ride from burning to the ground. What's more is that HalGuard's fire extinguishers are filled with a "clean agent" that keeps vehicle damage to a bare minimum.

That's all well and good when you're driving the vehicle, but what about when it's parked in the garage or riding in the back of an enclosed trailer?

HalGuard has you covered with automatic fire-supression systems that are heat activated (155,175, 200 and 286 F). So, if something in the shop or trailer catches fire, you have around-the-clock protection. Right now, there are two systems to cover different volumes of space: 24- and 28-foot trailers; or shops with volumes of 1,500 or 1,820 cubic feet (a decent-sized one-car garage).

Both systems use a 34-inch-long cannister (seven-inch diameter), although the larger system uses 55 pounds of agent instead of 45. The units have no moving parts, are easy to install and come with a one-year warranty.
