BALTIMORE, Md. - Mabel May Snyder, 87, of 2902 Kings Ridge Road, Baltimore, Md., and formerly of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Baltimore.

Born Thursday, June 23, 1921, in Plainfield, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Louis Malang and the late Mabel Dunham Malang.

She was a 1938 graduate of Plainfield High School and later graduated in 1942 from the Muhlenberg Hospital School of Nursing.


She was employed as an occupational nurse with Mack Trucks Inc., retiring after many years of service.

She was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Carney, Md.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John Lawrence Snyder; one daughter, Susan L. Snyder of Baltimore; a son, John Louis Snyder and Sandra Robinson of Baltimore; two grandchildren, Christin E. Snyder of Hedgesville, W.Va., and John W. Snyder of Baltimore; and a stepmother, Esther Malang of Plainfield, N.J.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Malang and Louis Malang.

Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with Deacon James Westwater officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17.

Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
