Cynthia Diane Bavry-Smith, 54, of Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.
Born Jan. 16, 1954, in Montgomery, Ala., she was the daughter of Billie Rose Minnick Rutten of Walkersville, Md., and the late James Martin Rutten.
She was a 1971 graduate of Bowie High School in Bowie, Md., and a 1977 graduate of University of Nebraska School of Pharmacy in Omaha, Neb.
She was employed at Walgreens Pharmacy in Martinsburg, W.Va.
She was of the Methodist faith.
She was a member of Maryland Pharmacists Association and the American Society of Consulting Pharmacists.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Richard O. Smith, whom she married June 4, 1994; two sons, James R. Bavry, stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, and Andrew M. Bavry of Hagerstown; one stepdaughter, Amy Jo Smith of Chemung, N.Y.; two sisters, Amanda J. Hanley of Chesapeake Beach, Md., and Stephanie D. Cox of Walkersville; five grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
