HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Anna Virginia Hiett, 97, of Hedgesville, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at her home.

Born Nov. 26, 1911, in Shanghai, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Frank Files and Martha Ellen Stuckey Files.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Hiett.

She was co-owner of the former Stoney Corner Service Station and Apartments.

She was a member of the former Jones Springs EUB Church.

She is survived by six sons, Robert B. Bartgis, Garland C. Bartgis and Max E. Bartgis, all of Hedgesville, James D. Bartgis of Maysville, W.Va., John K. Bartgis of Mount Joy, Pa., and Lyle F. Bartgis of Lancaster, Pa.; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Beatrice Noll; one sister, Mono Files; and three infant brothers.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Tomahawk Presbyterian Church. Pastor Paul Wolverton will officiate. Burial will be held at Tomahawk Presbyterian Cemetery.


The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.
