BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Woodrow J. Henry, 85, of Berkeley Springs, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at Winchester Medical Center.

Born April 25, 1923, in Morgan County, he was the son of the late Ernest and Lottie Yost Henry. He attended Berkeley Springs area schools.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lee Hale-Henry.

He retired from General Motors of Baltimore.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was a member of American Legion Post 60.

He was a member of Hancock Assembly of God Church, where he was an elder.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Chavis-Henry; two brothers, Cleo Henry and Bobby Henry of Louisville, Ken.; two stepdaughters, Jo Ann McCoy of Baltimore and Mary L. Gibson of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bernice Clark and Betty Silver; and one stepson, Hamer E. High.

Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home.

Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Hancock Assembly of God Church. The Revs. Donald Preston and Robert Smith will officiate. Burial will be at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery with military honors in Flintstone, Md.
