CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Jayne Grier, 54, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born July 29, 1954, in Huntingdon, Pa., she was the daughter of Charles L. and Hazel Stevens Fisher.

She was a member of Allenport United Methodist Church and Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chambersburg, where she and her husband served as officers on the Church Council.

She was involved with Chambersburg High School Symphony Wagon.

She was a 1972 graduate of Mt. Union Area High School. She attended Penn State University and Wilson College in Chambersburg, where she completed an associate degree in business management. Her real estate education included licensing courses at Penn State Mont Alto and the Institute of Real Estate. She had been pursuing designation from the Graduate Realtor Institute as a certified residential specialist.

She worked as a Realtor for Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA.

She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Donald T. Grier; two daughters, Heather Pierre and Lindsey, both of Chambersburg; two sisters, Gloria Tress of Mount Union, Pa., and Dolphene Wakefield of Shirleysburg, Pa.; three brothers, Edwin Fisher of Mount Union, Fredrick Fisher of Williamsport and Craig Fisher of Colona, Ill.; two granddaughters; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.


She was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce and Bonita; one brother, Samuel; one nephew; and one great-nephew.

A memorial service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Neal O. Hively and the Rev. Tara Magoon will officiate. Burial will be private in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the John L. and Cora I. Grove Cancer Center, Summit Keystone Pavilion, Suite 100, 755 Norland Ave., Chambersburg.
