WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Leora M. "Lee" Firestone Weber, 81, of 300 N. Grant St., died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, at her home.

Born June 16, 1927, in Hillsdale, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Garland O. and Lura M. Seiple Firestone.

Her husband, Joseph Rowland Weber, died Dec. 2, 2005. They were married May 6, 1950.

She graduated from Fremont (Ind.) High School.

She was last employed at Hearthstone Retirement Home in Waynesboro, as a nighttime attendant.

She was a member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren.

She volunteered as a Girl Scout leader and as a den mother for the Boy Scouts.

She is survived by four daughters, Kathleen J. Williams of Tallahassee, Fla., Patricia D. Martz of South Mountain, Pa., Sandra C. Weber of Chambersburg, Pa., and Jonell K. Bittinger of Waynesboro; one son, Kenton G. Weber of South Mountain; one sister, Grace L. Fansler of Fremont, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.


She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Memorial services will be held for Mrs. Weber and Mr. Weber at 1 p.m. Thursday at Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, Waynesboro. The Rev. Prudence B. Yelinek will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends following the memorial services in the church social hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Good Shepherd, Luther Home Care Services, Inc., 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.

Arrangements are by Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
