Preps Area roundup -- Wishard reaches 1,000 career points

GIRLS BASKETBALL



SCOTLAND, Pa. -- Waynesboro's Mallory Wishard scored 22 points to reach 1,000 for her career in the Maidens' 49-19 Mid-Penn Capital victory over Scotland on Monday.

The Maidens outscored Scotland 15-0 in the first quarter and never looked back.

Chelsea Kissler had 11 points and Wishard added 10 rebounds for Waynesboro (1-2, 1-0).

Heritage 36, Goretti 30

Rebekah Clarke had 10 points, six rebounds and five steals to lead Heritage Academy over St. Maria Goretti.

Caroline Clark added nine points and six rebounds and Brianna Dorsey had 16 steals and 14 rebounds for the Eagles (4-0).

Colleen Costello scored a game-high 13 points for the Gaels and Angie Navarez added 10 points.

So. Fulton 59, Chestnut Ridge 41

FISHERTOWN, Pa. -- Chelsea Hollenshead had a game-high 19 points, seven steals and six rebounds to lead Southern Fulton over Chestnut Ridge in the Sideling Hill League.

Natasha Bard had 12 points, five rebounds and five steals and Brook Whiteside added 10 points, seven assists and five rebounds for the Indians (2-0, 2-0).

WAYNESBORO, Pa. -- Jamison Walck had 17 points, eight rebounds and three assists to lead Waynesboro past Scotland in a Mid-Penn Capital game.

Tim Null added 12 points, three rebounds, two assists and two blocks for the Indians (2-1, 1-0).

CVCS 55, McConnellsburg 52

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. -- Nick Bunting had 28 points and four steals and Scott Levy had 20 points and six assists to lead Cumberland Valley Christian School.

John Watson had nine rebounds for the Blazers (4-0). Ryan Defibaugh led the Spartans with 18 points.

Broadfording 51, Loudon Co. 48

FREDERICK, Md. -- Broadfording Christian Academy defeated Loudon County in the championship game of the New Life Christian School Tournament.

All-Tournament selection Armando Miller led the Lions (3-2) with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Tournament MVP Gabe Hirsch added 10 points, five rebounds and four assists and Jordan Whitt had 15 points and five rebounds.

Broadfording defeated Maryland School for the Deaf 40-25 in the semifinals.

Miller had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Lions, while Whitt added 11 points and five rebounds and Hirsch had six rebounds and four assists.
