AARP Chapter 623

Due to unforeseen circumstances, AARP Chapter 623 must cancel its Christmas party, scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 9.

Tree of Love

WILLIAMSPORT - A Tree of Love has been set up at the Homewood Health Care Center. For a donation, individuals can place a dove or cardinal to honor a loved one. This project is sponsored by the auxiliary and proceeds will go to the benevolent fund. Checks should be made out to Homewood Auxiliary, and mailed to 16505 Virginia Ave., Williamsport, MD 21795.

Breakfast with Santa Claus

MIDDLETOWN - Saturday, Dec. 6, 7 to 11 p.m., Middletown Fire Hall. All you can eat breakfast. $7 for adults, $3.50 for children ages 6 to 12, free for children younger than 6. Santa will give out gifts to children.

Pancakes and sausage

Saturday, Dec. 6, 7 to 11 a.m., Girls Inc., West Washington Street, Hagers-town. Breakfast costs $4 and preschool-aged children are admitted for free. Santa will give out treats for children from 9 to 10 a.m. A Christmas craft table will be set up during the breakfast, and each Saturday in December at Market House from 6 a.m. to noon.

Home party holiday shopping extravaganza

Saturday, Dec. 6, 3 to 6 p.m., Brethren Fellowship's Family Ministry Center, 14010 Greencastle Pike, Hagerstown. Free admission. The event features home-based businesses with numerous gift items for sale. Door prizes and food will be available. Attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item and/or pet food or supplies that will be donated to the Food Bank or the Humane Society of Washington County.

Cookie sale

Saturday, Dec. 6, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 1020 Maryland Ave., Hagerstown. Features cookies, soups, sandwiches, candies and breads. Carry-out only.

Jingle Bell Run

FREDERICK, Md. - Saturday, Dec. 6, 9 a.m., Baker Park. Hosted by the Arthritis Foundation. This is a 5-kilometer run. Prizes will be awarded to top performers. There is also a one-mile course that can be walked or run. Call 301-663-0303.
