Fred Kershner, 73

Fred Kershner died Tuesday evening at Washington County Hospital.

He was the son of the late Fred Kershner of Cumberland, Md., and the late Frances V. (Early) Bailey of Funkstown, Md., and San Diego, Calif. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Johnna Marie Kershner.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a retired truck driver.

He graduated in the class of 1953 from Hagerstown High School.

He was a member of St. James Brethren Church, in St. James, Md.

He is survived by one brother, Robert of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Phyllis Crowe of Sheffield, England; one stepsister, Sandra Boseley of Fort Ashby, W.Va.; a stepbrother, Lewis Kershner of Cumberland; four children, Frederick and wife Krista of Williamsport, Md., Pamela Bloom and husband Steven of Williamsport, Eric and wife Cheryl of Hagerstown, and Randall and wife Mary of Hagerstown. He is also survived by his former wife, Shelva (Bingaman) Kershner of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren, Brianne Mundey, Brittany, Eric, Gregory, Angela, Travis and Tyler Kershner, Elizabeth Hunt and Stephanie Bloom; four great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jocelyn, Dakota and Charles Kershner, and many nieces and nephews.
