Holiday movies, crafts

Kids of all ages are invited to Washington County Free Library, 100 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, on the three Saturday mornings before Christmas for a holiday film and crafts.

o Dec. 6, 11 a.m. Mr. Jeff will show the movie "Jack Frost."

o Dec. 13, 11 a.m. Miss Abigail will show the movie "Elmo's Holiday Movie."

o Dec. 20, 11 a.m. Miss Cat will show the movie "'Twas the Night."

Photos with Santa, Grinch

SHARPSBURG - Photos with Santa and the Grinch will be taken from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at Sharpsburg Church of the Brethren, 123 E. Main St. Costs $6 each and includes photo frame card and gift for the children. Pets are welcome.

Open house

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. -The national headquarters for the Appalachian Trail will hold an open house at its Harpers Ferry visitor center, 799 Washington St., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6.


The open house will offer hot cider and cookies, door prizes, and discounts on trail books, maps and merchandise and discounts on memberships.

Fire department open house

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - The Shepherdstown Fire Department on W.Va. 45 will have its annual Christmas open house and free community dinner from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7.

The day's special guest will be Santa Claus. There will be free gifts for children.

Holiday spectacular

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -The Apollo Civic Theatre will present, "A Holiday Spectacular," 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Apollo Civic Theatre, 128 E. Martin St. Bring a nonperishable food item.
