RANSON, W.Va. - Edward J. "Jimmy" Meehan, 67, of Ranson, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson.
Born Aug. 3, 1941, in Baltimore, he was the son of Helen McCarthy Meehan of Westminster, Md., and the late John Meehan.
He was a blacksmith and farrier at local tracks.
He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Charles Town, W.Va.
He was a member of Charles Town Horsemen's Benevolent Protective Association and Alcoholics Anonymous.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Patricia Lee Meehan of Charles Town; one daughter, Pamela C. Hernandez of Ranson; one son, James J. Meehan of Ranson; two sisters, Sandy Beynon of Florida and Gerrie Meehan of Ranson; three brothers, Kevin Meehan of Florida, Jack Meehan of Oklahoma and Brian Meehan of Maryland; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
