Antrim budget presentation delayed

December 05, 2008|By KATE S. ALEXANDER

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - The Antrim Township Board of Supervisors on Thursday postponed presenting its preliminary 2009 budget until its regular meeting Tuesday to give the supervisors more time to review the lengthy document.

Board Chairman Curtis Myers, who drafted most of the budget as interim township administrator, suggested the board wait five more days to present the budget to the public for comment because of last-minute changes in revenue.

Myers said the township recently learned it will receive two, or possibly three, additional grants in 2009, totaling approximately $1.75 million for use at the Antrim Township Municipal Park, the shared-use trail and for area economic development.

He said the Antrim Township auditors are still reviewing and advising on projected 2009 general fund revenue.

The board of supervisors will hold its final meeting of 2008 on Dec. 31 at 11 a.m. to adopt the final budget before the end of the year.
