McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Dorothy Belle Plessinger, 79, of 119 W. Walnut St., died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg.

Born May 10, 1929, in Needmore, Pa., she was the daughter of the late W. Don and Edna M. Peck Hill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson J. Plessinger, in 2007. They were married July 4, 1948.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church in Warfordsburg, Pa., and a former member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by three daughters, Nancy J. Smith of Southport, N.C., Phyllis E. Price of Breezewood, Pa., and Kimberly A. Nutwell of Needmore; one son, John E. Plessinger of Goose Creek, S.C.; one sister, Mildred Shirk of Clear Spring; one brother, Alton Hill of Needmore; her companion, Francis Claar; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Ella Mae Richardson.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home in McConnellsburg. The Rev. Delmas Bard will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Christian Cemetery in Warfordsburg.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
