Bake sale set for Saturday

St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, at 1020 Maryland Ave., Hagerstown, will hold its annual bake sale Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Hundreds of cookies, along with soups, sandwiches, candies and other baked goods will be available.

Coats for Kids drive under way

The North Hagerstown Lions Club is holding a coat drive to collect coats for children for winter.

The coat drive will be held at Valley Mall through Monday, Jan. 5. Drop off any used or unwanted coats at the railcar in front of O'Connell's Jewelers.

Kettle drive in full swing

The Salvation Army Kettle Drive has kicked into full swing for the holiday season.

Red kettles are set up throughout Valley Mall at the entrances to J.C. Penney's, Sears, Macy's and the center mall entrance.


Donations for The Salvation Army will be accepted through Christmas Eve.

Kids Day at Market to be held Dec. 13

On Saturday, Dec. 13, Hagerstown's City Farmers Market, at 25 W. Church St., will host Kid's Day at the Market.

Childrens crafts will be going on from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Concert to benefit Utility Relief Fund

A concert is scheduled at The Maryland Theatre on Thursday, Dec. 18.

Opera performer William Clarence Marshall III, a local choir and orchestra will perform beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $10 and proceeds will benefit the City of Hagerstown's Utility Relief Fund. For ticket information, call 301-790-2000 or go to
