Microsoft Windows XP and Vista operating systems

BOONSBORO - Computer specialist Curt Johnson will teach a class about Microsoft Windows XP and Vista operating systems. Johnson will demonstrate the use of free software to secure home computers. The discussion will be geared toward the nontechnical home computer user and will include: viruses, phishing and identity theft. 6 to 7:30 p.m. Boonsboro Library's community room. Grant-seeking basics

A workshop on grant-seeking basics for nonprofit organizations. Harry Sachs, Business and Government Information Center librarian will lead the workshop. Janice Rosenberg, librarian at the Foundation Center's Washington office, will offer tips on how best to identify funding sources, highlighting the electronic and print resources available for your free use at the Washington County Free Library's Business and Government Information Center. The workshop will include a demonstration of the Foundation Directory Online. 6:30 p.m. Washington County Free Library, 100 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. Free.
