$250,000 ticket sold in Smithsburg

SMITHSBURG -- The owner of Village Spirits said Wednesday the liquor store sold a winning $250,000 lottery ticket Tuesday, but no one has claimed it.

The Mega Millions ticket was purchased just before 7 p.m. Tuesday at the store at 22935 Jefferson Blvd., store owner Chris Linetti said.

The player matched five of six numbers, missing only the Mega Ball, Linetti said.

The odds of winning the $250,000 prize are 1 in 3,904,701, according to megamillions.com.

Linetti said the ticket purchaser should call the Maryland Lottery at 1-800-388-1333 to claim the prize.
