Army Spec. Nicholas D. Smith, son of Lindy S. Campbell of Frederick, Md., and father and stepmother, Donald and Amy Smith, of Savage, Md., has returned to the 164th Military Police Company at Fort Richardson, Alaska, after being deployed to an overseas forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Smith has been decorated with the Army Commendation Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal and the Combat Action Badge.

Smith is a recent promoted driver and military police member.

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Travis M. Biddinger graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Biddinger is a 2006 graduate of Catoctin High School, Thurmont, Md.

Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Stephen C. Pounds has been mobilized and activated for deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The sergeant, a military police with 12 years of military service, is normally assigned to the 398th Military Police Company, Shreveport, La.


He is the son of Jackie D. Anderson and Lyle Toomer of Mandeville, La.

His wife, Christine, is the daughter of Joseph Wolfinger of Middletown, Md.

Pounds graduated in 1986 from Covington High School and received an associate degree in 2004 from Frederick Community College in Frederick, Md.
