BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Oleta Mae Cain, 76, of Berkeley Springs, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at her home.

Born Feb. 24, 1932, in Cherry Run, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Marshall F. and Margie Lee Litten Starliper.

She attended Cherry Run School.

She had worked as a seamstress supervisor for Jacobs Brothers in Hancock.

She was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Spohrs Crossroads, W.Va., where she was a member of the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gardner Isaac "Junior" Cain Jr.; one daughter, Edna E. Widmeyer of Berkeley Springs; one son, Roger A. Cain of Berkeley Springs; one sister, Dorothy Stuckey of Martinsburg, W.Va.; five grandsons; nine great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.


She was preceded in death by seven sisters, Betty Silver, Sarah Clark, Mary Apple, Violet Householder, Mattie Bohrer, Nancy Weicht and Jean Hoover; and three brothers, Harry Starliper, Marshall Starliper and Billy Seckman.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Spohrs Crossroads. The Revs. Daniel Montague and Kathy Spitzer will officiate. Burial will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs, which will open at 11 a.m. Visitation also will be Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.
