December 01, 2008

CASCADE -- A Sabillasville, Md., woman died Friday from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident in Cascade, according to a Washington County Sheriff's Department press release.

The crash happened at about 12:55 a.m. Thursday in the 14000 block of Macfee Hill Road, deputies said in a news release sent out on Monday.

Shelby Alana Wolfe, 28, of Sabillasville, left the Chocolate Park bar in Cascade and drove off in pursuit of a pickup truck driven by 37-year-old Thomas Jonathan Kauffman, the release says.

Police said Wolfe and Kauffman had been in an argument at the bar.

Wolfe accelerated and sideswiped Kauffman's truck, then lost control of her vehicle, which struck a concrete footer of a railroad signal, the release says.

Wolfe was taken to Washington County Hospital and later flown by helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where she died of her injuries at 10:57 p.m. Friday, the release says.

Kauffman was not injured, police said.
