Masons bestow degree on German emissary

The Master, Wardens and Brethren of Antietam Lodge 197, Keedysville, along with 138 other Master Masons, were witness to a first in the 112-year history of Antietam Lodge. The Grand Master of Maryland, John Biggs Sr., left, and his Grand Masonic Line bestowed the degree of "Mason at Sight" on the Chancellor of the German Embassy in Washington, Heinz Guenter Langenberg, on Oct. 29 in the Masonic Temple of Friendship Lodge 84 in Hagerstown.
