Menno Haven to host Medicare seminar

November 30, 2008

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Menno Haven will host a Medicare seminar on Dec. 9.

The seminar, titled "Understanding Medicare Advantage Plans," will be given at 9:30 a.m. at the Menno Village chapel and at 11 a.m. at the Penn Hall chapel. The seminar will cover the benefits and the cautions people need to know about the plans. The seminar will be given by Bob Edwards, a Pennsylvania licensed insurance agent who specializes in Medicare insurance plans.

Medicare Advantage Plans are health-plan options that are part of the Medicare program.

Medicare Advantage Plans provide Part A (hospital insurance) and Part B (medical insurance) benefits and must cover at least all of the medically necessary services that the original Medicare plan provides. The plans might offer extra benefits, such as vision, hearing, dental and/or health and wellness programs, and most include Medicare prescription drug coverage, usually for an extra cost.
