Maryland State Police are seeking assistance in identifying two men who attempted to rob Valley Market on U.S. 40 east of Clear Spring on Monday, according to a state police press release.
The incident occurred about 6:30 p.m. when one of the men demanded the cash drawer, police said. The 16-year-old clerk at the store was assaulted, but no cash was taken, police said.
The two men were traveling in a newer model Ford pickup truck, possibly an F-250, with an extended cab and overhead amber cab lights, police said. The pickup was a dark gray smoke color and had a regular bed, police said.
The driver of the pickup is described as a white man in his late 40s or early 50s with a heavy build, unshaven and with dark hair, police said. He was wearing blue jeans, a blue sweat shirt and a blue knit cap with red trim, police said.
