November 27, 2008

Whitney Furr of the Boonsboro FFA Chapter competed in the Agricultural Science Fair held at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis.

For her project, which studied the effects of color synthesis on plant growth, Whitney used four groups of plants and covered each plant with a different colored piece of plastic wrap to determine which plant would grow the best.

Students displayed their exhibits in the Lucas Oil Stadium for the week. Whitney participated in a personal interview with a panel of judges and was asked to discuss her project. She received a bronze medal award for her project.

Her FFA adviser is Steven Garland.

The Agricultural Science Fair is sponsored by Monsanto and the Ford Motor Co. and Driving Skills for Life, A Safe Driving Campaign.
