FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - C. Robert Koch, 90, formerly of 240 Bobwhite Trail, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at Menno Haven in Chambersburg, Pa.

Born March 7, 1918, in Reading, Pa., he was the son of the late C. Frank and Gertrude R. Heffelfinger Koch.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor R. Yorgey Koch, in 2001. They were married Feb. 9, 1946.

He was a 1936 graduate of Reading High School and a 1944 graduate of Penn State University. He received a master's degree in science from Hofstra University in Long Island, N.Y.


He was a teacher at North Shore Schools in Sea Cliff, N.Y., for 24 years, retiring in 1980.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of Greenwood Hills Gospel Chapel.

He is survived by two daughters, Judith Ann Koch-Vaness of Montpelier, Vt., and Linda K. McMahon of Long Island; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one grandson.

Services will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg. Burial will follow in Norland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
