Frances Irene Beasley, 79, of 1100 Luther Drive, Hagerstown, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at the Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

Born Sunday, May 26, 1929, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late George E. Mettle and the late Dora Cimbola Mettle. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Beasley.

Frances was employed as an Executive Assistant for Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America, also office manager for various law firms in the Baltimore area. After living and working most of her life in Baltimore, she moved to Hagerstown in 1996.

She is survived by two sisters, Marguerite Ermer of Baltimore and Mary Mettle also of Baltimore; one granddaughter, Kathryn G. Leonarczyk of Hagerstown; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by sons, DeFord Beasley and Jay C. Beasley, and sisters, Susan Pensom, Jean Aldrich and Rose Winants.

Services will be held privately with the family.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Arrangements are being handled by the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD.
