Geneva Jean (DiFabbio) Dattilio, 85, formerly of Division Avenue in Hagerstown, Md., died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at Robinwood Village Assisted Living Center in Hagerstown.

Born Feb. 22, 1923, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Michele and Gaetana (Bagalini) DiFabbio.

She was the wife of 64 years to Louis Dattilio of Hagerstown.

Geneva was a "Rosie the Riveter" at the Fairchild Corporation during World War II and later a homemaker, raising four children.

She was an avid gardener and sports fan. She could be often found on the sidelines of a sporting event cheering for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed collecting angels and crocheting.

Geneva was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Hagerstown.

In addition to her husband, Geneva is survived by one daughter, Victoria M. Vernon of Edmond, Okla.; three sons, Michael L. Dattilio, Patrick J. Dattilio and Christopher A. Dattilio, all of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren, Dr. John Vernon of Nashville, Tenn., Lindsay Dattilio of Rockville, Md., Matthew Dattilio, Erica Horton, Patrick Dattilio, Mark Dattilio and Alex Dattilio; and one great-grandson, Isaiah Horton, all of Hagerstown; and several nieces and nephews.

Geneva was preceded in death by one sister, Fannie Spinosi; and two brothers, Emidio DiFabbio and Frank DiFabbio.

The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Ave., Hagerstown. The Rev. Fr. Doug Kenny and the Rev. Fr. George Limmer will officiate. Internment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown, with a Christian wake service at 7:30 p.m.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742 or St. Ann Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
