Christmas trees

The Maugansville Ruritan Club will hold its annual Christmas tree sale at Long Meadow Shopping Center, starting Friday, Nov. 28, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day. The fundraiser will be held the entire month of December. There will be a large variety of trees to choose from.

Pancake breakfast

The Ruritan Club will hold a pancake breakfast Saturday from 6:30 to 11 a.m. in the community center. The breakfast will feature all the pancakes and sausage you can eat, plus coffee and juice. It will cost $5 for adults and $3 for those 6 to 12. Children 5 and younger eat for free. All proceeds benefit the many charitable causes the Ruritan Club supports.

Deadline extended

Maugansville Little League's board of directors has extended the deadline for accepting letters of interest for managers of all divisions for the 2009 baseball season. Letters of interest may be given to any board member or mailed to P.O. Box 266, Maugansville, MD 21767. Please indicate which division you are interested in managing. Final deadline for submitting letters of interest will be Dec. 8.


Youth group

The youth group from Salem Reformed Church will host a pancake/sausage breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 29, from midnight to 10 a.m. The breakfast costs $5. This breakfast is especially for all the hunters who will be leaving their homes early in the morning, but anyone can attend. The proceeds from the breakfast will go toward the group's 2009 missions trip.

Craft show

The 25th annual Kris Kringle Craft and Gift show will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Hagers-town Community College's Athletic, Recreation and Community Center, 11400 Robinwood Drive in Hagerstown.

Admission and parking will be free. Golf cart shuttle availability will be free. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

This is a nonprofit show. Donations of nonperishable food items for Christmas baskets for families and/or a new toy for underprivileged children are requested. All items will be donated to the Hagerstown Trinity Lutheran Church for distribution to families. A basket raffle and special candle and reed defuser sale will be held with proceeds to benefit Hospice of Washington County.
