Museum exhibit featured in national publication

November 21, 2008

The John Bell pottery exhibit on display in September at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts was featured in Antiques and the Arts Weekly, a national newspaper about antiques and the arts.

The article included several photos from the exhibit and said: "Born in Hagerstown, John Bell became one of America's preeminent potters, using glazes and techniques that many scholars believe are unsurpassed in American earthenware ceramics of the period."

The exhibit featured pieces made by several members of the Bell family, including works by John Bell, Elizabeth Bell, Samuel Bell and Peter Bell.

The exhibit has now closed, but the article and photos can be seen at AntiquesAndTheArts.com.
