The YMCA's Christian focus

WAYNESBORO, Pa. -- Retired YMCA executive director Dick Marks will discuss the history and current aspect of the YMCA's Christian focus. Homemade door wreath

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Participants will make a homemade door wreath in two sessions. Participants need to bring ribbon, pine cones and other decorative items and encouraged to bring evergreen material like yew, fir, spruce and boxwood. Grant workshop

FREDERICK, Md. -- The Heart of the Civil War Heritage Area, a State of Maryland-certified heritage area encompassing parts of Carroll, Frederick and Washington counties, hosts a grant workshop. The program will include an orientation to the newly established Grantseeker's Resource Center. 3 p.m. Grantseeker's Resource Center, C. Burr Artz Public Library, 110 E. Patrick St. Free. Grant-seeking basics

A workshop on grant-seeking basics for nonprofit organizations. Harry Sachs, Business and Government Information Center librarian will lead the workshop. Janice Rosenberg, librarian at the Foundation Center's Washington office, will offer tips on how best to identify funding sources, highlighting the electronic and print resources available for your free use at the Washington County Free Library's Business and Government Information Center. The workshop will include a demonstration of the Foundation Directory Online. 6:30 p.m. Washington County Free Library, 100 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. Free.
