Ruth South inducted into Senior Citizens Hall of Fame

On Nov. 5, the Manor Church Senior Citizens Club met at Mountain Gate Family Restaurant in Waynesboro, Pa., for the club's Thanksgiving dinner.

Pastor Ralph Jamison gave the blessing.

On Oct. 28, the club presented president Ruth South with an arrangement of flowers, honoring her induction into the Senior Citizens Hall of Fame.

The ceremony was at Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, Md. Club members in attendance were Charlotte Dixon, Mildred Shank, Hilda and Russell Wingert, William and Naomi Thomas, Pastor William Stoner Jr. and Becky Stoner and Harold Ridenour. From Boonsboro Christian Church were Steve Banks, and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Cline.

In keeping with the prayer shawl ministry, Gladys Pacyna received a shawl. Dorothy Jamison made the presentation. Naomi Thomas and Sara Jane Palmer sang Gladys her favorite hymn, and Pastor Stoner presented the prayer.

Club member Josephine Palmer was welcomed back after a lengthy illness, and was presented with an arrangement of roses.

Birthday gifts were given to members having November birthdays. Door prizes of homemade apple butter made by Ruth Shank were won by those with lucky numbers. Pastor Dean Miller won a fleece robe.

Mildred Shank and Charlotte Dixon delivered readings to those in attendance. Those with cameras took lots of pictures of the club's celebration. Pastor Miller offered the closing prayer.
