Baby sitter training offered by Red Cross

The Washington County Chapter of the American Red Cross, at 1131 Conrad Court in Hagerstown, will hold a baby sitter boot camp course Dec. 29 to 31, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The three-day course costs $100. Financial Aid is available. Space is Limited. Participants are asked to bring a bag lunch.

The purpose of the course is to provide individuals, ages 11 to 15, with the information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parents or adult guardians. This training will help participants develop skills in leadership and professionalism, basic care; safety and safe play. The student's will also learn child and infant CPR along with standard first aid.

The students will receive a baby sitter's training handbook, a baby sitters training emergency reference guide, a baby sitters training CD-ROM, and a baby sitters backpack.

Holiday bazaar to be held Friday

The ARC of Washington County will hold a holiday bazaar Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The bazaar will offer crafts, gifts, raffles, soup, salad and drinks.

Craft show at HCC's ARCC set for Saturday, Sunday

The annual Kris Kringle Craft Show will be held Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. at Hager-stown Community College in the ARCC.

Admission and parking will be free. A free golf cart shuttle will be available. Shopping bags will be given to the first 10,000 shoppers.

Volunteers are needed and student service hours are available.

Bible College classes to begin

Antietam Bible College, Biblical Seminar and Graduate School has announced registration for the spring semester. Classes begin Jan. 12. Undergraduate tuition costs $90 per credit hour and graduate tuition costs $105 per credit hour. These tuition rates are in effect until Dec. 19.

Christmas cards for the troops

Susquehanna Bank and the South Hagers-town High School PTA are teaming up to collect Christmas cards through Dec. 12.

A goal of 10,000 cards is being requested to send to troops serving in Iraq. Please drop off donated cards at the main office of Susquehanna Bank or at any branches.
