Angel Tree

There will be a flatbed rail car near Macy's department store at Valley Mall with an Angel Tree decorated with names of 100 children and their gift requests for the holidays. Anyone can take an angel tag, buy a gift and place it under the tree with the tag attached through Dec. 15. (Remember, unwrapped gifts only.) A member of The Salvation Army will pick up the gifts nightly. For more information, call 301-733-2440.

Toys for Happiness

For more than 30 years Valley Mall has partnered with different organizations to collect toys for children. For the past eight years, The salvation Army has collected new toys for children through its Toys for Happiness campaign. New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at the flatbed rail car in front of JCPenney's through Dec. 15. The Salvation Army will then pick up the toys weekly.

Gift wrappers

Volunteers from the county will be on hand during Valley Mall hours to wrap holiday gifts. The Red Cross will be accepting donations from shoppers to wrap gifts. Two stations will be available; one at Center Court by Reed's Jewelers and another across from Old Navy. Volunteers will be on hand from Nov. 28 to 24.
