Owners of former Hagerstown Billiards working to reopen

November 19, 2008

The owners of the former Hagerstown Billiards on Dual Highway asked Washington County liquor officials on Wednesday about the procedures they would have to follow to get a new liquor license.

Co-owner Roger Munson told the Board of License Commissioners for Washington County, known as the liquor board, that he closed the business on Dual Highway and wanted to reopen at a property on Bower Avenue.

Robert L. Everhart, liquor board chairman, said the new site would be too small to meet the 75-seat requirement for a liquor license, but the board would work with Munson.

Everhart suggested that Munson sacrifice a few of the pool tables to make extra room.

Munson said he would like to reopen in January or February.
